Why do you believe Charlotte Bronte deals so much with power structures between Men and Women?

I found it prevalent in Jane Eyre that Bronte has strong opinions on sexual inequality in her time period. I believe she has experienced the unjust way men have treated women around her and even her. I feel like this kind of writing is productive today, as there is still sexism alive and well in the 21st century.
