Charlotte Bronte has used pieces of her life in her book Jane Eyre. One of the first things that sticks out right away is that Charlotte's mother died when she was younger. In the book, Jane is an orphan who was left in the care of her uncle and aunt until her uncle died. This is a clear connection similarity between the author and the protagonist. Charlotte made Jane have no parents because she felt like she had none either. After the passing of her mother, Charlotte's father became despondent and didn't play a huge role in their lives. This caused her to feel like an orphan, which is why she can relate and write about Jane and how she feels so well. The next similarity is that both girls went away to school. In the summer of 1824, Jane and her sisters were sent away to school. At the school there was harsh rules, no heating, and inedible food. On the other hand, Jane was sent to Lowood by Mrs. Reed and experienced the same conditions. She made the schools similar because she knew so much about her experience already. Tragically, the same year they moved away to a school, her two older sisters died. In Jane's experience, she meets her first real friend Helen and then begins to like the school more that she had a companion. Helen dies from a sickness that spread around the whole school. I think there is a relationship between Helen and Bronte's two older sisters. For Jane, Helen was the only thing that she has left in the world, much like Charlotte only had her sisters to rely on. When reading Jane Eyre and then comparing it to Charlotte Bronte's life, the reader can find many parallel's between the two, making it evident that the novel Jane Eyre is somewhat of an autobiography.

I agree with these connections between Jane Eyre and the author, Charlotte Bronte. I like how even the smallest details from Bronte's life can be found within the novel, which you did really well. Marriage is a huge part of this story, so what similarities can be found between Bronte and Jane? Overall, these connections are amazing and are ones I wouldn't have thought about when reading this book.
