BBC Podcast

Pros:
I liked how the speakers in the podcast gave a summary of the novel that they were talking about. I also like how one main point that I loved was about the podcast was how they gave examples of how this book related back to Bronte's life.  I am fairly certain that this novel is the autobiography of her life.  they talked about the characters in the book.  For example, they talk about Rochester and his rough past and his many secrets. Another person they talked quite a bit about was Bertha Mason,  she is the reason this book is considered to be a Gothic novel. Jane Eyre's character is also talked about. They told us how Jane was using this book to look back on her life.

Cons:

The people in the discussion rarely ever finished what they were trying to say.  It seemed like they were trying to race through the topics so they could get home. Another thing I wasn't a fan of was how they all tried to talk over each other.  They are pretty hard to understand with their accents already so them trying to talk over each other didn't exactly help.

Interesting:

One of the things that I found interesting was how they said the book was realism and romance.  I thought the book was about how Rochester and Jane were equal, at least intellectually, and that is why Rochester first fell in love with her.  This podcast, however, changed my opinion of this book, I see now that it is a mix of realism and romance which is something that makes it such a great read.  I found it interesting because without listening to this podcast I would've never known what the book was really supposed to be about.

  1. I liked when they went over Bronte's life in detail because it gave us a better understanding of where all of her characters and the setting came from. I agree with your statement about how the broadcasters never finished a topic. I felt like they were rushing through every topic because they had to do the broadcast in a specific time.

  2. I agree when you say that they never finished what they were trying to say. The guy asking the questions always told them that it was time to move on because they had other things to discuss. I also like how they gave the summary on the whole book before digging deeper into the novel and then we got to hear their personal opinions when the questions were asked.

  3. I feel the exact same way. Every time they would try to speak at the same time, they would try to continue talking and hoped that the other would just stop. Throw that on top of the fact that their accents were difficult to understand at times and it becomes quite frustrating to listen to.
