After Jane saves Rochester from the fire, how do we know they might be falling in love?

He is very grateful and told her to keep everything on the down low. It is very obvious they both have feelings for each other, although Jane has fixed feelings. Although, I believe Jane has abandonment issue from her times at the Reeds and the passing of the only person she loved, Helen. This is why she so hesitant to act on these feelings. I still think she is falling in love, and it's only a matter of time.

  1. Like you said earlier he tells her to keep everything on the down low, also in chapter 17 he almost says "Good-night my love" but catches himself right before he says it and walks away very fast. I too think that Jane has some sort of issue with having and maintain relationships with people as her only friend Helen died shortly after they meet. I think that it will take some time before Jane finally acts on her feelings
